The short version of how Rumline works. Still stuck? Email support@neonflow.co and a human will help.
Using Rumline
How do I capture a task quickly?
Press the global hotkey from any app and a borderless input opens. Type the task in plain language and Rumline's parser sorts out the details for you — for example:
Call Geoffrey #bikeshop tomorrow
Use #shorthand to assign a project, natural-language dates like tomorrow or next Friday, and priority cues. No fields to click — hit return and it's filed against the right project.
What do the project health colors mean?
Health is computed, never set by hand. Every project sits in one of three bands based on workload and time since your last touchpoint:
Critical — overdue tasks, or a client gone quiet past your cadence. Needs you now.
Monitor — approaching the cadence cliff or workload climbing. Watch the drift.
Healthy — fresh contact and a manageable load. Earned its calm.
Rumline always shows the cause alongside the band, so a project is never just "red" — it's "red because four open tasks and last contact twenty-one days ago."
What is the morning brief?
Each morning Rumline composes a short paragraph naming the day's actual focus — overdue work first, critical projects second, today's commitments third. It ends with the single thing that, done today, would matter most. It's generated on-device by default, so it stays private.
How do I turn meeting notes into tasks?
Paste your call notes or a meeting transcript, pick the project, and Rumline extracts the action items as draft tasks. You review and edit them before anything is saved — nothing lands in your system without your sign-off.
Why is it called Rumline?
The name comes from rhumb line — a sailing term for a path that holds a steady compass bearing all the way to its destination. Rather than constantly recalculating the "perfect" route, you pick a heading and stay on it.
That's the idea behind the app. With a lot of clients pulling in different directions, Rumline helps you hold a steady heading — show up where you're needed, keep moving, and not get knocked off course.
Trial, pricing & licensing
How does the trial and pricing work?
Download Rumline and use every feature free for 21 days — no card or account required up front, and nothing held back. After the trial, a one-time $15 purchase unlocks it for life. No subscription, no recurring charges, and all future updates are included.
How do I buy a license, and what happens after the trial?
You can purchase anytime — during or after your trial — from the secure checkout:
You'll get a license key by email; enter it in the app to unlock it permanently. If the trial lapses first, don't worry — your projects, tasks, and history stay exactly where they are and come right back once you enter a key.
I lost my license key. How do I recover it?
Look it up anytime in the customer portal using the email you purchased with:
If you can't find it there, email support@neonflow.co and we'll resend it.
What are the system requirements, and how do I get support?
Rumline runs on macOS 15.4 or later on Apple Silicon Macs. For anything else, email support@neonflow.co — include your license email if it's about a purchase — and a human will help.
